Such service is offered in a free and the file sent will be hosted on WeTransfer servers, thus not going to occupy the e-mail storage space.
The strength of WeTransfer lies in its minimal user interface which makes this service really easy to use: to send a file it will only take a few minutes. Have these premises intrigued you and now you can't wait to find out more about how this service works? Would you like to know how to use it and how to send or receive files? If this is what you are wondering, know that the answer to your questions is only a few lines away. All you need to use WeTransfer is a browser for browsing the Internet and, why not, even your Android or iOS smartphone, since you can also use WeTransfer from mobile devices. Ready to get started? Yup? Very well! As usual, before we begin, I wish you a good read.
How WeTransfer (Web) Works
To start using WeTransfer, you must first connect to its official website via this link. If this is your first time using WeTransfer, you will first be asked if you want to use the version free of the service or if you want to go directly to the purchase of the paid version called WeTransfer Plus (which we will talk about later).
If you want to use WeTransfer for free, click on the button Take me to free and you will be redirected to the Home Page of the service.
The first thing to do to continue is to accept WeTransfer's terms of service: to do so, click on the button Accept. You will then be able to view the screen dedicated to sending files with WeTransfer.
As you can see, the screen in question comes with a very minimal user interface. Most of the screen is occupied by the background offered by the service, created in collaboration with partner companies; on the side, however, there is the tool for sending files.
Before seeing in detail how to use WeTransfer to send files and also how to receive them, please note that, in order to use the service, you will need to have the recipient's email address available. Once you have uploaded the file to WeTransfer, entered the email address of the person to send it to and customized the sending message, if necessary, the file will be delivered to the email address indicated. The transferred file will be available for download from the server for a limited time: the recipient, in fact, will have 7 days to download it.
Once the period available for downloading the file has expired, the content will be deleted and must be reloaded to make a further submission. All clear? Yup? Very well! So let's not get lost in chat further and let's get started right away. In the following lines I am going to explain step by step how to send files with WeTransfer.
How to Send Files with WeTransfer

Then select the file by clicking on it to be uploaded to the WeTransfer server. The next step is to indicate the data of the recipient of your file.

In the text field Email Address, you will need to indicate your email address instead. By entering it, you will be notified with an email when the file is downloaded. The field message, on the other hand, it is entirely optional: if you wish, you can write a personalized message that will accompany the file to be sent to the recipient.
Before sending the file by pressing the button Transfer, I recommend you click on the icon with the three dots symbol (...). You can then choose whether to send the file by email o via link for download. Both choices are valid, it depends on what your needs are.
In fact, keep in mind that, by sending the file via email, the recipient will receive an email message from WeTransfer that will notify the presence of a file intended for him. The recipient will have to press the button indicated in the email to download the file in question.
In case you decide to send the file to download via link, WeTransfer will not ask you to indicate an email address. A shareable link will be generated. By acting in this way, all the people who will be in possession of the link in question will be able to download the file from the WeTransfer website.
In both cases, after uploading the file, to transfer the file in question you will have to press the button Transfer.
Sending the file to the recipient is generally fast, almost instantaneous, but any problems of slowness in uploading the file and / or in receiving it could be due to the slow Internet connection.

How WeTransfer Works (Android / IOS)

Once you have downloaded the WeTransfer application from the Android Play Store or the iOS App Store, all you have to do is start it and create a new board by pressing the button (+) which is located at the top right. In the screen that opens, type the name to be assigned to your virtual table; add, if you want, a description of the latter in the field below and press the button Create located at the top right.
Now all you have to do is press the button (+) located at the bottom center and select the content to add to the board: you can choose between photo or video, chamber (then capture a photo or video in real time with the smartphone camera), files (files of various kinds) e contents of the clipboard. Once you have selected the type of content to add to the board, choose the files to be included in the board and that's it. There are no space limits. If you are using an iOS terminal, make sure you authorize WeTransfer to access photos, files etc.
Once you have finished creating the board, press the button Share located at the top left and share the link which is provided to you by the WeTransfer app to allow other people to download the files you have added to your virtual board. If you want, you can edit the boards even after creating them: just select them from the WeTransfer app home screen and use the buttons on the screen that opens to add or remove content. It is not possible, however, to receive files directly within the app.
