How to Store Passwords on Windows

As I have suggested to you in numerous circumstances, you should never use the same password for multiple websites. However, it must be admitted that remembering so many passwords to access social networks, online services and websites is not easy. So how can you combine this need for security with the convenience of being able to remember all your passwords at any time? The answer is there and it is called Free Password Manager.

Free Password Manager is a free program for Windows that allows you to save all your passwords in a secure database protected in turn by a password chosen by the user. In this way, you can efficiently store and organize all your access data without risking anyone seeing them. Interesting, right? So let's not waste any more time and see immediately how to store passwords with this very useful program.

Be vuoi scoprire how to store passwords in a safe but simple way, the first step you need to take is to connect to the Free Password Manager website and click on the green button Download Now (located at the bottom right) to download the program on your PC.

When the download is complete open, double clicking on it, the file you just downloaded (FPM-Setup.exe) and, in the window that opens, first click on Yes and then Next, I Agree, Next for another three consecutive times e Finish to complete the installation process and start Free Password Manager.

Now, you need to create the secure database (password protected) in which to organize e store passwords that you use to access websites, social networks, online services, etc. To do so, just select the item Create New from the menu Database of Free Password Manager and fill in the form that opens by typing the name to be assigned to the database in the field Database name, the password to protect the opening in the fields Password e Retype Password and, if desired, a description in the field Description.

After entering all the data and clicking on OK, you will see the name of your database appear in the Free Password Manager sidebar (in which there is also a sample database that you can open by typing the password 12345678). Within the database you can not only keep your passwords securely but also organize them in folders.

For example, if you want to create a folder with the passwords of your social network accounts (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), right-click on the database name and select the item New folder from the menu that appears. At this point, give any name to your folder (eg. Social network) and start adding your passwords in the latter by right clicking on the right side of the Free Password Manager window and selecting the item New record give the menu to compare.

In the window that opens, fill out the form that is proposed to you by typing the name and address of the website to which the password you are about to store in the fields belongs Title ed URL, then enter user Name e Password to be stored in the respective fields and click on the button OK to complete the operation. If you want, you can also assign a custom icon to the password you are about to store by selecting an image from the drop-down menu next to the item Title.

Repeat the operation with all the passwords you want to memorize and close the program. From now on, to view the passwords stored in Free Password Manager, you will have to start the program, double click on your name database and enter the password to open it. You will then have to select the item related to the password you want to view and put the check mark next to the item Show password to show the keyword hidden by the asterisks. Easier done than said.
