How to Export Contacts from IPhone

The first procedure I want to talk to you about is the one relating toexporting iPhone contacts in the form of a file VCF o CSV. These formats are among the most used for managing contacts, therefore it is possible to transfer the address book exported from the "iPhone by" on the vast majority of devices and software platforms.

There are several apps that allow you to export contacts from the iPhone, the one I recommend is My Contacts Backup which stands out from the others for the fact that it does not require uploading your address book to online servers and does not require registration via social networks. or email. In short, it protects the user's privacy, and therefore it seems to me worthy of attention. Basically it is free, but it only allows the export of address books consisting of up to 500 contacts: to export a greater number of contacts, the purchase of its Pro version is required, which costs 2,29 euros.

To download My Contacts Backup (or My Contacts Backup Pro) to your iPhone, open theApp Store (the blue icon with the letter "A" in the center, which you can find on the home screen), select the tab Search at the bottom right and search for the application using the appropriate bar. Next, select the app from the results that are returned to you, press the button Ottieni / Installa and confirm your identity via Face ID, Touch ID or Apple ID password entry. If you are reading this tutorial directly from iOS, you can open the App Store page dedicated to My Contacts Backup or My Contacts Backup Pro by clicking on the links I gave you earlier.

Once the installation is complete, start My Contacts Backup grant the app permissions to access iPhone contacts. Then tap ongear icon located at the bottom right and, in the screen that opens, select from the menu Type, the file format you intend to export your contacts to: vCard to get a file VCF or CSV (Excel) to get a file CSV.

Fatto ciò, first prize end (top left) for two consecutive times, in order to save your preferences, then press the button Backup and wait for the iPhone phonebook backup to be created. If during the process you are told that the backup file size is too large (your backup file size is too large), Reply OK the warning that appears on the screen, in order to save the address book without the profile photos of the contacts.

When you have finished saving your contacts, press the button Email and send the file VCF o CSV obtained by email to an address you have access to. Mission accomplished! You now have an iPhone address book backup ready to be imported to a wide variety of devices and software platforms.

The synchronization of contacts with iCloud should already be active "by default" on the iPhone, as long as you have configured an Apple ID on the device. To check if the function is already active on your "iPhone by", access the menu Settings of iOS (thegear icon located on the home screen) and first tap on the you don't know and then on the voice iCloud, in the screen that opens.

If you do not see your name in the iOS settings, it means that you have not yet associated an Apple ID to the device: to fix it, press the button Log in to iPhone and enter your account credentials. If you do not yet have an Apple ID, create it by pressing the appropriate item and then following the instructions I gave you in my tutorial on how to create an Apple account.

At this point, in the iCloud configuration screen, locate the item Contacts and, if necessary, move up ON the corresponding lever: in this way, you will enable the synchronization of contacts with iCloud. This means that the phone book will be copied and synchronized constantly with Apple's online service.

If you have set up more than one address book sync service on your iPhone, make sure iCloud is set as the default service by going to the menu Settings> Contacts> Default account (otherwise the new contacts added in the address book will be synchronized with other services and not with iCloud).
