After so many months spent with Microsoft Outlook, have you decided to change your e-mail program but don't want to lose all your old contacts? Have you also installed Outlook on your home PC and want to have the address book with all the addresses in the office there too? Nothing easier.
You should know that Outlook includes a feature that allows you to export your address book contacts to CSV or VCF files, which can then be imported into other programs, e-mail services or other Outlook installations to transfer all your contacts in a handful. of clicks. In the tutorial I will use Outlook 2016 for Windows and macOS, which at the time of writing is the most recent version of the famous Microsoft software. In any case, the indications in the article are to be considered valid for all the most recent versions of the program. In addition, I will mention the steps to follow on older editions of Outlook and explain how to export contacts from the Outlook mobile app and its web version, Outlook.com. In short: whatever version of Outlook you intend to use, read on and you will find the answer to your doubts.
Export Contacts from Outlook for Windows
Be vuoi scoprire how to export outlook contacts from your computer and you are using a recent version of Office (2007 or higher) for. Windows, the first step you have to take is to start the program through its icon in the menu Start (the flag icon located in the lower left corner of the screen) and click on the button Fillet located at the top left. At this point, click options and, in the window that opens, select the item Advanced from the side bar of the sinistra.
Then click on the button Export, select the option Export to a file and click sul pulsating forward. Tax comma separated values (Windows)as the destination format for the contacts to export and click once again on forward.
Then select the item Contacts (or a sub-folder of contacts, if you want to export only certain names) and first click on forward and then Shop by Departmentto choose the folder in which to save the contact file. Finally, click once again on forward and then end to start exporting the contacts, which will be saved in a single CSV file in the folder of your choice.

Older Versions of Outlook
If you want export Outlook contacts and use Office 2003 or earlier, the procedure to follow is equally simple. You have to select the item Import and export from the menu Fillet and, in the window that opens, you need to set comma separated values (Windows) as the destination format of the contacts from before clicking the button forward.
At this point, select the voice Contacts and click once more forward. Then select the folder to export the contacts file and click first on forward and then end to save the CSV file with all Outlook contacts in the selected folder. Since it wasn't difficult?
Export Contacts from Outlook for MacOS
If you use a Poppy, you can export contacts from Outlook by following two different procedures: the first allows you to obtain single VCF files for each exported name (usable in many applications and online services); the second, instead, allows to obtain a single file OLM with all contacts usable with Outlook only. Let's see in detail how to proceed in both cases.
To export Outlook contacts in VCF, open the program and select the address book icon (the business card) which is at the bottom left. Choose, therefore, which contacts to display by placing or removing the check mark from the options in the left sidebar (eg. Outlook o On my computer) and select the contacts to export using the combination cmd + click. If you want to select all contacts at the same time, click on a name and then press the key combination cmd + a on the Mac keyboard.
At this point, left click on any of the selected contacts and drag it to the folder where you want to save the VCF files. Release, therefore, the pressure of the left click and the files with the contacts will be copied to the folder you selected. It wasn't difficult, was it?
If, on the other hand, you prefer to get a OLM with all the contacts, go to the menu Fillet Outlook (top left) and select the item Export from the latter. In the window that opens, put the check mark only next to the item Contacts, pigia sul pulsating Continue, choose the folder in which to save the file and press Save but I will complete the operation.

Export Contacts from Outlook to Android
If you use the Outlook application on Android and / or have synchronized the Outlook.com address book with your mobile device (I explained how to do it in my tutorial on how to set up Hotmail on Android), you can export contacts from Outlook using the Google Contacts application.
The Google Contacts application should be pre-installed on your device. If not, open the Play Store (the colored play symbol icon located on the home screen or in the screen with the list of all the apps installed on the device), look for it inside the device, select it and install it by pressing the button Install.
At this point, open the app Contacts, pigia sull 'hamburger icon located at the top left and select the icon Outlook from the menu that opens. Once this is done, press the icon with i three vertical dots located at the top right, choose the item Select all (or, alternatively, choose the individual contacts to export by making a long tap on one of them and then placing the check mark next to the others) tap the button sharing (the icon with the three dots connected to each other located at the top right).
Finally, wait for the file VCF with all the contacts selected and choose how to export it: you can auto-send it via email using any app for managing email (eg. gmail) or you can save it in a cloud storage service, such asdropbox o Google Drive.

Export Contacts from Outlook for IOS
If you have followed my tutorial on how to configure Hotmail on iPhone and / or have installed the official Outlook app for iOS and now you want to export contacts from the address book of your "iPhone by" (or from that of your iPad), I suggest you use the My Contacts Backup application, which allows you to export the iOS address book in VCF or CSV format for free up to 500 contacts. To export a larger number of contacts requires the purchase of its Pro version, which costs 2,29 euros.
Using My Contacts Backup is really a breeze. After downloading the application from the App Store (by tapping on the "A" icon on a blue background located on the home screen, selecting the Search located at the bottom right and looking for the application in the latter), start it and allow it to access the iOS address book.
Once this is done, press onicona dell'ingranaggio located at the bottom right and choose whether to export the address book in CSV o vCard by selecting one of the options available in the menu Type. Then press the button end and press the button Backup/Export to start exporting contacts. If you are told that the backup file is too large and that, in order to save the contacts, you have to give up their profile pictures, answer in the affirmative to the warning that appears on the screen (by pressing the button OK).
At the end of the export, press the button Email and auto-sent the file with the contacts. Later, you can use the file by following the directions you find in my guides on how to open VCF files and how to open CSV files.
Please note: the procedure described above allows you to export all the contacts in the iOS address book and not just those relating to the Outlook account.
Export Contacts from Outlook.com
If you use the Web Mail service Outlook.com and you want to know how to export contacts from the latter, do the following.
To begin with, connected to your mailbox on Outlook.com via the link provided, log in with your Microsoft account, indicating login data such as e-mail e password (if required), click on the icon with i 9 squares located at the top left and finally select the icon People in the menu that appears on the screen.
On the page that opens, click on the button Manage che si trova in alto a destra e seleciona la voce Export contacts in the menu that opens. Next, expand the drop-down menu Contacts from this folder and choose whether to export all contacts or just gods contacts specific (then selecting one of the contact lists available in your Outlook account). So press the button Export, so you can download a CSV file with the address book of Outlook.com.
