The ability to download applications is very useful, since it allows you to take advantage of various contents that can usually be accessed from the Web, through your television. Having said that, I imagine that if you are reading this guide, it is because you do not yet have a clear idea of how Smart TV works: you would therefore like to know how to download applications to your LG Smart TV? You will see that if you carefully follow the instructions that I will give you in the lines below, you will be able to carry out this operation in the blink of an eye. How to Connect LG Smart TV to the Internet
If you want to download applications to your LG Smart TV, the first thing you need to do is make sure that the television has previously been correctly connected to the Internet. To do this, immediately turn on your Smart television by pressing the power button you can see on the remote control - this features the symbol of a switch and it is red in color.
Once you have turned on the television, press the button Home, the one with the symbol of a small house, in order to access the main menu of the Smart TV. At this point, you will be able to view the main menu on the screen and you will have to click on the icon that presents the gear symbol, which will be located at the top right.
A side drop-down menu will appear on the screen; then identify the wording All settings located next to the three dots symbol. Then click on it via the center button of your remote to access the Smart TV settings menu.
Now, you need to check that the television is properly connected to the Internet in Wi-Fi mode or via Ethernet cable. To check this, scroll through the settings menu items until you find the wording Network: then click on it to see this menu in depth.
At this point, you will be able to see if the television has been connected to the Internet via a wired connection, or if it is connected via Wi-Fi. In fact, in the menu I have indicated to you there will be the words connection Cablata Ethernet or the wording Wifi connection. In the case in one of these menu items there is the wording Connected to the Internet, means that the Smart TV was previously connected to the Internet.
If not, choose how you want to connect the Smart TV and follow the steps I indicate in the following lines to connect the Smart TV to the Internet via Ethernet cable or via Wi-Fi connection.
Acting through the network settings of the Smart TV you can in fact easily connect your Smart TV via Wi-Fi connection and then wirelessly. In this case what you have to do is press on the wording Wifi connection located in the path Settings > Network.
Once you see the list of nearby networks, you can click on one of them to connect: if the network you are trying to connect to is free, and therefore not protected by a password, you can immediately connect to it. If, on the other hand, you want to connect to your password-protected home Wi-Fi network, you will need to type the access key to your Wi-Fi network in the password text field. To connect to it you will then have to press the button Connect. Once the connection is successful you will see the words appear in the network settings of the Smart TV Connected next to the menu item Wifi connection.
If, on the other hand, you want to connect the Smart TV through a wired connection, you will need to have an Ethernet cable. To connect to the Internet in this case, all you have to do is connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the router that was provided to you by your Internet service provider and bring the other end of the cable to the Smart TV, hooking it to the Ethernet port of the same.
Once connected to the Internet you will see a wording in the settings of your Smart TV which will confirm that you have accessed the Internet.
Please note that the Internet connection is a fundamental prerequisite to be able to download apps on LG Smart TVs. The digital store of the Smart TV uses the Internet connection to be able to download and update applications. An Internet connection may also be required for the use of some specific applications, such as Netflix.
How to Download Applications
Once you have verified that your Smart TV is connected to the Internet, you can start downloading the applications within it. The procedure is really simple from the moment you just use the digital store of the LG Smart TV, called LG Content Store.
To open the LG Content Store digital store, first press the button Home from the remote control of the Smart TV, or that button that presents the house symbol. In this way you will be able to view the main menu of the LG Smart TV and locate the application that is related to the virtual store: this app presents the shopping bag symbol and it is called precisely LG Content Store.
Once you have located its icon, click on it via the central button of the remote control to launch it. As soon as the application opens you will be able to see its main screen first. Already by acting from this screen you can locate some applications to download on the Smart TV but, if you wish, you can scroll the additional screens of the LG digital store using the directional arrows on the TV remote control. This will allow you to view several other applications to download.
You can also use some icons located on the home screen of the LG Content Store to locate the applications to download on your LG Smart TV. You can in fact see the icon that presents the symbol of a P.; this call Premium, allows you to view a list of popular applications. You can also click on the icon that features the symbol of a controller, in this case you will also be able to view popular games as well as popular apps. If you click on the icon it presents instead magnifying glass symbol, which is called Search, you will be able to access the internal search engine of the LG digital store. Have you identified an application that interests you and would like to know how to install it? Very well, then click on it via the central button of your remote control and, to install it, press the button Installation that you will see on the screen. The installation of the app will start automatically and at the end of the same you can start the app: just click on the button starts that you will see appear.
In the main menu of the LG Content Store you will also see the icon with the symbol of a little man; if you click on the latter you will be able to view the complete list of applications you have installed, as you will be redirected to your personal page and you can also manually update the applications. To do this, in this case, just press the button Update at an application.
Have you installed several applications and want to start them faster? Not a problem, you can do it. Later, when you turn on your LG Smart TV, first press the button with the symbol of a small house found on the remote control.
By doing this you will be able to view the main menu of the Smart TV. As you can see, you will see a horizontal list on the screen with the icons of all the apps you have installed.
