How to Download Android Movies

Are you going to spend a few days out of town and would like to download some movies on your Android tablet so you can enjoy them during the trip? Maybe I can give you a hand. Below is a list with some of the best applications for download android movies. These are apps, both free and paid, that allow you to download movies from the Internet and save them on the Android memory without going through your computer. All you have to do is install them, start them and follow the directions I am about to give you. In no time you will find yourself with dozens of films to watch directly on your tablet (or smartphone) at the highest quality.

The apps are divided into various categories: there are the "traditional" stores that allow you to rent or buy individual films; video on-demand services which in exchange for a small monthly fee allow you to watch and download hundreds of titles offline; P2P software for downloading movies from file sharing networks; and download managers that allow you to download movies from websites, hosting services and streaming platforms. Believe me, you are spoiled for choice!

Caution: abusive downloading of copyrighted films is a crime. This tutorial has been written for illustrative purposes only, I do not take any responsibility for the use that may be made of the information contained therein.

Google Play Movie

A tutorial su how to download android movies it could only start with Google Play, the official Google store for buying and renting movies on Android.

By accessing Google Play Movies and pressing the button Buy movies you will have access to an endless catalog of titles belonging to all genres and eras: from blockbusters that have just arrived on the home video market to the most niche films, without forgetting some timeless masterpieces of the Seventh Art.

Films have varying prices. Wanting to make an average we can say that the rental costs 4 -5 euros and the purchase 10-13 euros but there are also titles in special promotion (less than a coffee) which can be rented for only 99 cents.

To "browse" the titles on Google Play you can use the categories listed on the store home screen (eg. new releases, in evidence, action and adventure) or the menus at the top: rankings, genres, familyo production houses.

When you find a film of your interest, select its poster, press the button Rent or on the button Buy And that's it. The rented films can be kept for a maximum period of 30 days, but once their viewing has started, they must be “consumed” within 48 hours.

I doubt you've ever heard of Netflix - it's one of the most popular video on-demand services in the world. In its catalog there are many films of all genres, countries and eras, many TV series (many of which are absolutely exclusive), documentaries and cartoons to watch in SD, Full HD or even 4K quality (provided you have a subscription that gives access to higher quality content than standard definition).

The Netflix subscription provides prices starting from 7,99 euros / month after the first 30 days of free trial (without any obligation to renew). The subscription offers full access to the service catalog and the ability to download offline content on smartphones and tablets.

To take advantage of the download function, all you have to do is select the film of your interest and press the icon Download which is under the plot of the film (or next to the name of an episode, in the case of series). Subsequently, you can access the downloaded videos locally by pressing the button ? located at the top left and selecting the item My downloads from the bar that compares di lato.

Unfortunately the download option is not yet available for all Netflix hosted movies. To find out which titles are accessible in offline mode, just press the button ? at the top left and select the item Available for download from the bar that appears on the side. More details on the whole procedure can be found in my tutorial on how to watch Netflix offline.

Another important thing to underline is that Netflix is not available on the Play Store for all those who have rooted and / or have unlocked the boot loader of their device. If you have an unlocked Android device, you can only install Netflix by enabling support at unknown origins on the menu Settings> Security and by downloading the app's APK package from sites like APK Mirror. If you don't know how to open APK files, read my guide on the subject.

Infinity is another video on-demand service that allows you to download movies and watch them offline (as well as stream them over the Internet). It is not free, it costs 7,99 euros / month which goes down to 5,99 euros / month during the promo periods, but new customers can try it for free for 30 days with no obligation to renew.

In its catalog there are films belonging to all genres and all eras that can be watched freely without extra costs. The only paid content is the newly released home video films, which can only be rented.

To use Infinity on Android, download the app from the Google Play Store, launch it and register for the service. To create your account, press the ad icon hamburgerlocated at the top left, select the item  Login from the bar that appears on the side and "tap" on the option Not registered yet?. Then fill out the form that is proposed to you, choose a payment method between credit card and PayPal and that's it. You will not be charged until the end of the trial month.

Once the registration is complete, log into your Infinity account, locate the movie you want to download on your smartphone / tablet and "tap" first on its poster and then on the button Download. If the download button is not displayed, it means that the work you have selected is not available for download (due to rights issues, not all films can be downloaded offline).

Once downloaded, the movies end up in the section Download of Infinity (accessible from the left sidebar). They are kept for a period of 7 days but after starting the vision they must be "consumed" within 48 hours. To learn more about these and other aspects of the Mediaset video on-demand service, consult my tutorial on how to see Infinity.

Please note: Infinity does not work on rooted devices. If you have rooted your smartphone / tablet or plan to do so, do not download it.

Amazon Prime Video

Prime Video is a video streaming service offered by Amazon. It is part of the Prime subscription, so it does not have a monthly fee but is paid once a year along with the rest of the services included in the subscription: free delivery in one day on over 1 million products, early access to lightning offers and more . Currently, the price of the Amazon Prime subscription is 36 euros / year or 4,99 euros / month.

As well as Netflix and Infinity, Prime Video also offers the viewing of numerous films and TV series in streaming (although currently its catalog is a little less well-stocked than that of the competition) and, on smartphones and tablets, gives the possibility of download the contents locally.

To download a movie from Amazon Prime Video, select the playbill of the latter and presses the button Download present in the screen that opens. Once the download has started, press the button ? located at the top left, select the item Downloads from the bar that appears on the side and select the tab Movies. The BitTorrent network is teeming with interesting movies, and Android can count on a series of apps that allow you to download them extremely easily and quickly. The one I recommend is called Flud and is completely free.

Using Flud you can download movies from the BitTorrent network just as if you were using uTorrent or qBitTorrent on your PC. All you have to do is find a .torrent file or a magnet link in the browser (eg. Chrome), press on the latter and choose Flud as the application with which to open the selected file or link.

Once you have "captured" the Torrent or magnet link to download, Flud will show you a summary screen with all the information on the selected files. At that point, all you have to do is press on "+" button located at the top right and the download will begin.

To find the files to download on the BitTorrent network, you can use a search engine like Zooqle or one of the other sites that I recommended in my post on Torrent sites. There is also a search function included in Flud (the magnifying glass icon located at the top right) but it leads to a simple search for Torrent files on Google.

If Flud fails to meet your expectations, you can also try aTorrent, another BitTorrent client for Android that is completely free and very easy to use.
