How to Collate with Word on PC

If you want to learn how to collate with Word and use Word via Windows, all you have to do is open the document to print and click on the button Fillet which is located at the top left.

At this point, select the voice Print from the left sidebar, type the number of copy of the file to be printed in the appropriate text field and set the item File copies from the third drop-down menu located under the item Settings. Word Online is completely free (you just need a Microsoft account to access it) and works with all major web browsers. However, for the purpose of printing the document, I recommend that you use Google Chrome, which has a customized print panel, in which there is the option to collate documents.

To proceed, then connected to the Word Online home page, log in with your Microsoft account and choose whether to create a new document or open an existing one (taking care to previously upload it to OneDrive, the Microsoft cloud storage service. , with a simple drag and drop in the browser window.

Once the document to be printed is open, click on the button Fillet, located at the top left of the Word Online page, select the option of Print from the menu that appears on the side and confirm by pressing the button Print.

A PDF version of the document to be printed should automatically open: if not, click on the item Open a printable PDF version of the document and open the PDF that is downloaded to your PC with Chrome.

Once this is done, give the print command by clicking on the icon printer located at the top right. Enter, therefore, the number of copy to be printed in the appropriate field and tick the box Fascicule that appears at his side.

Finally, click on the button Print and your document will be printed in multiple copies and in an orderly manner.

If you have opened the PDF produced by Word Online with a program other than Chrome, you must apply the option to collate the document via the print panel of your printer which, in fact, varies from device to device.

On macOS, unlike Windows, this panel is common for all printers and the option to collate is found by clicking on the button Show details, typing the number of copy to be printed in the appropriate field and selecting the item Paper handling from the drop-down menu under the sheet orientation options.

How to Collate with Word on Smartphones and Tablets

Word is available in the form of application for smartphones and tablets. It is compatible with Android and iOS and is free for all devices with a size equal to or smaller than 10.1 "(otherwise it requires a subscription to the service Office 365, for 7 euros / month or more). The app in question is very complete but, at the moment, it does not include a direct option to collate documents to print.
