Come Fare Backup Pc Windows 10

Have you noticed that the amount of important files present on your PC equipped with Windows 10 has increased exponentially, so you are looking for a solution that can keep them safe, perhaps on a disk or even in the cloud, so as not to lose them in the event of unexpected events or breakage of your devices. It seems clear to me that you need a backup and, luckily for you, Windows 10 offers many solutions to this effect, both included "standard" and released by third parties as separate downloads.

How do you say? You can't wait to find out come fare backup PC Windows 10 to get to work immediately? I am happy to inform you that this is the guide for you: below, in fact, I will show you the simplest and most effective methods to secure your computer data and restore them in case of need: all without paying a single euro .

In particular, I will let you know the various types of backups that can be created and then I will show you both a solution included by default in Windows 10 (which therefore does not require the download of additional software), and some useful external program that can help you achieve your goal with minimal effort. Having said that, now I just have to wish you good reading and good backup!

Types of Backups

Before catapulting into the world of backup, it is good that you learn some simple concepts on what are the types of storage that various software can exploit. Do not think that, with each backup, all the files are diligently copied back to the chosen device, because this is not the case: there are programs that, using each of the techniques that I will show you shortly, can speed up and optimize the data copy operation, as well which decrease the size of the resulting backup file. Curious to know how? Read carefully the differences between the various backup techniques that I am about to explain and you will find out.

  • Full backup - as the name suggests, it is a complete copy of the files and folders on the chosen device, as they are and without any exclusion. It is a type of backup that is simple to manage, but very time consuming to create.
  • Incremental backup - in this type of backup only the files created and modified since the last backup performed are stored, leaving the others unchanged. Consequently, before making an incremental backup, you need to create a full one. This is a solution that generates small files but requires the latest full backup and all previous incremental backups to restore.
  • Synthetic full backup - it is identical to the incremental backup, but "incorporates" its files into the full backup from which it originates. It is practical and safe, but takes longer to create (due to the merge operation).
  • Differential backup - very similar to incremental backup, it stores files and folders created since the last full backup, leaving everything else intact. Consequently, you need to create at least one full backup before creating a differential backup. This type of solution is a little more important, in terms of space, than the incremental backup, but simpler when it comes to restoring: to do it, you need the last full backup and only the last differential backup.

So, in summary, each of the methods listed has its strengths and weaknesses: it's up to you to choose the one that best suits your needs and, based on this, the most useful program for your purposes. For further clarifications and all the explanations of the case, I refer you to my guide dedicated to backups.

  • System backup - creates an image of the entire operating system, to be restored in case of problems (or if the recovery of Windows 10 stops working). The image can be mounted and "explored".
  • Quick backup - allows, with a very quick procedure, to copy one or more files and folders to a disk or an external device, with the possibility of updating them automatically.
  • Clone - allows you to clone entire disks or partitions. This is very useful in case the main disk is about to fail. The clone thus created cannot be "explored".
  • Clone system - provides for the cloning of everything concerning the operating system (drivers, settings, etc.), with the possibility of restoring it in case of disaster. Also in this case, the clone cannot be “explored” but only restored.
  • Create startup disk - through this feature it is possible to create a bootable device from which to start the PC and possibly restore the clones of disks or operating systems.
  • Means - this button allows you to access additional functions, for example the already seen ability to browse images, activation of the startup environment WinPE, the zeroing of data (secure deletion) of disks and partitions and management of settings iSCSIif necessary.

To be free, the range of features offered by this program is truly remarkable and, thanks to its interface and the presence of the Italian language, everything is made even easier.
