Give me a few minutes of your precious time as well as your attention and I will show you what are the resources you have from yours for backup your emails and how to best use them. In the end, you will see, you will be able to tell yourself very happy and satisfied with what you have learned.
Whether you have a Windows computer or a Mac it makes no difference, there are special programs available for both operating systems. They are all quite simple to use (to the detriment of appearances) and do not require special technical skills to be used. Amic Email Backup (Windows)
Are you using a PC with Windows installed on it? Then let me tell you about Amic Email Backup. It is a program to backup emails thanks to which it is possible to save in a safety copy the email messages received and sent via the major clients, including Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird and IncrediMail, and to easily restore the everything when needed. It is paid but can be downloaded in a free trial version that works without limitations for 15 days.
To use it, first of all connect to the download page of the program available on the CNET website, then click on the button Download Now located at the top left and wait a few moments for the software download to start. If the download does not start automatically, click on the link restart the download. to force it.
When the download is complete, open the executable file you just obtained, click on Run and then Si. In the window that you will then see appear on the desktop, first click on the button OK to confirm the use of the Italian language and then on the button forward four consecutive times. Then click Install and then end to finish the installation procedure and start the software.
In the program window that will now open on the desktop, click on the item Continue to access the main screen of Amic Email Backup. If the interface is still in English, click on the tab Options and then on the drop-down menu next to the item Language and select Italian to carry out the translation. Then click on the button Save to ensure that the changes made are applied.
Now, to make a backup copy of your emails and the settings of your email program, go to the tab Save and select the client of reference from the list located on the left, then click on the button [...] placed under the heading Save to: to choose the folder where to save the data and press the button Create the save! to start the save procedure.
Instead, to restore previously saved emails, just double-click on the safety copy that was created by Amic Email Backup. In the window that opens, click Continue, Then forward for three consecutive times and finally on Logout to finish the operation. Simple, isn't it?
The resource I mentioned in the previous lines did not convince you in a particular way and are you therefore looking for a valid alternative to be able to backup your emails? Then the advice I feel like giving you is to rely on MailStore. This is a no-cost program for Windows operating systems that allows you to create a backup copy of Hotmail, Gmail and other e-mail services as well as various computer clients, saving both received and sent messages on the PC hard disk . Let's see immediately how to make the most of it.
First, connect to the program's website and click on the button Download MailStore Free (Home) which is at the top so as to immediately start the software download procedure.
Now that you see the program window on your desktop, click on end in the MailStore welcome screen then select the item Archive email che trovi in corrispondenza della sezione Quick access and configure the backup procedure by typing in the field under the item Account e-mail on the left your e-mail address. Then press on Start, provide your login credentials and click on OK in response to the notice indicating that the configuration has been completed.
Now, select the newly created profile from the table profiles at the bottom and click on the button Run you see appear on the right. You will then see another window appear through which you can follow the progress of the procedure.
If you want to manage the operations related to the selected mail account before starting the backup process, click on the button Property… which you will always find in the right part of the MailStore window after selecting the profile and adjust all the proposed parameters as you think is most appropriate.
Do you want to back up the emails received and sent using the e-mail client used by you on your computer? Then select the correct one from the options you find in the column Mail client and follow the configuration procedure proposed on the screen. The rest of the steps to be taken are identical to those seen together just now for Web mail services.
Once the backup is complete, you can consult all the saved emails by clicking on the item Personal archive that you find in the bar Archive on the left and then clicking on your account or on the reference client and on the folder of your interest. For the management of individual messages, you can rely on the tools that you find in the appropriate bar at the top of each of them.
Finally, I would like to point out that if you intend to reuse the emails from your mail account on another service, instead of selecting the option Archive email in the main screen of the program you have to choose Export email. The rest of the steps to be taken are practically identical to those seen together just now.
Mail Backup X (Mac)
Are you using a Mac? In that case, the resources I told you about in the previous lines are not eligible as they are specific to Windows. But you can rely on Mail Backup X to deal with it. It is a commercial software but also usable in a free trial version (the one I used to write this post) that allows you to backup emails received and sent on various email services (Gmail, Yahoo etc.) and on various clients (Mail, Postbox etc.), both manually and automatically. It is quite simple to use and is also sufficiently intuitive.
To serve, first connect to the program's website and then click on the button Download Now for two consecutive times. Once the download is complete, open the .dmg package obtained and double-click on the .pkg file contained within it to start the program installation procedure. In the window that you will see appear on screen, click on the button Continue, its Install and end.
Now, start the application by going to the folder Applications macOS, right-clicking on it and choosing apri twice in a row in order to open Mail Backup X, however, going around the limitations imposed by Apple against unauthorized developers, then choose to start using the trial version of the program and select, from the screen you see , the option Setup a new backup profile.
Then indicate the e-mail client or e-mail service for which you intend to go to act and click on Next, enter the access data and other requested information and always press the button Next and verify that all the folders you intend to backup are selected (and if not, you can do it yourself).
Then indicate by ticking the option you prefer in correspondence from the section Chose a backup schedule:, whether to backup emails automatically, manually or recurring, specify the destination location via the section Storage Locatons: which is at the top and completes the whole procedure by pressing on Done.
Once the backup is complete, you can then read, import and manage your emails by selecting the correct option (Import Data from an existing file or Restore exported profile) from the screen that will be shown to you when you first start the program.
